EARLY NEW FRANCE (1600 to 1730) ERA
Some interesting facts:
- Although we have no evidence of the Grants being in Early New France, there are
connections by marriage to people living at that time. For example, William Grant of
Trois-Rivieres married Marguerite Fafard dit Lafromboise in Trois-Rivieres in 1787. According to
Ens (2008, p. 364) A Son of the Fur Trade Marguerite's great, great grandfather, Bernard
Fafard , emmigrated to New France in 1660.
