GRANT DNA PROJECT

As of 2012, about 250 men have participated in the to Grant DNA Project.

Genetic analysis for this project is based on markers in the male Y chromosome. If you are woman and have male relatives (e.g. brothers or cousins) who you know are descended from a common male Grant ancestor (e.g. your father or grandfather), they can undertake genetic analysis on your behalf.

GRANTS AND BIG-Y TEST

Thanks to Donald Grant of Winnipeg, you can view the report and related charts showing the results of the Big-Y Test. This project analyzed the DF19 subclade which includes 22 independent male lineages - all descended of a Germanic Iron Age man lving 2300 years ago. The Grants are part of this subclade.
